Emeco started in 1944. We took salvaged aluminum and made chairs for the US Navy. A war-time necessity. That became an ongoing direction. Today it's scrap plastic. We keep it out of oceans and landfills and instead turn it into chairs that last. A planet necessity. Reuse. Recycle. Re-imagine.
ZA STOOL COLLECTION
Za is a family of stools in three heights, handcrafted from recycled aluminum and guaranteed for life. “Za” means “a place to sit” in Japanese – a name that speaks to the multi-functionality of a simple stool that can be used anywhere, indoors and outdoors. A simple and timeless stool, built for lifetimes of use, to be kept, cherished and passed on for generations.
A solid addition: Navy wood
A much anticipated solid wood edition of our classic aluminum 1006 Navy Chair. To coincide with the original Navy Chair’s 75th anniversary, this addition to the family brings a new expression in a highly appreciated natural material.
